7-Day Walking & Cultural Safari

Step beyond the safari vehicle and experience Tanzania on foot — up close and personal. This 7-day walking and cultural safari takes you through wilderness areas and traditional communities, combining guided bush walks, scenic drives, and authentic cultural encounters. Ideal for adventurous travelers who want to connect deeply with nature and local life while still enjoying comfort and safety.

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to your lodge in Arusha. Rest and prepare for an exciting adventure that blends walking safaris, wildlife, and culture.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park (Walking Safari)

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its elephants and baobabs. Begin with a short game drive, then enjoy a guided walking safari led by a park ranger. Learn to read animal tracks, identify plants, and safely observe wildlife on foot. Picnic lunch in the park, followed by an afternoon game drive and overnight at a lodge near the park.

Day 3: Tarangire – Lake Manyara – Mto wa Mbu Village

Morning transfer to Lake Manyara for a short game drive and scenic views. Later, visit Mto wa Mbu village for a guided cultural tour. Meet local artisans, banana farmers, and families, and enjoy a traditional Swahili lunch. Overnight in Karatu.

Day 4: Empakai Crater Hike (Ngorongoro Highlands)

Drive toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area and start a guided hike down to the Empakai Crater. The walk offers stunning views of forests, flamingo-filled lakes, and the Great Rift Valley. Camp or stay in a nearby lodge surrounded by mountain air and breathtaking scenery.

Day 5: Maasai Village & Crater Rim Walk

Meet the Maasai community for an authentic cultural exchange — learn about their traditions, songs, and cattle-keeping way of life. Continue with a guided crater rim walk offering panoramic views of Ngorongoro. Overnight at a lodge on the crater rim.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive, capturing its dense wildlife population — lions, zebras, buffalo, and possibly rhinos. Picnic lunch on the crater floor, then drive back to Karatu for your final night.

Day 7: Karatu – Arusha / Departure

After breakfast, return to Arusha, stopping at a local market or craft shop along the way. Enjoy lunch and last-minute photography before your airport transfer for departure.
