Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, youāll be met by a Kitawa Safaris representative and transferred to your budget-friendly lodge in Arusha. After check-in, relax and enjoy the vibrant town atmosphere or unwind at the lodge before your adventure begins.
Day 2: Arusha ā Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park ā home to Tanzaniaās largest elephant population and the iconic baobab trees. Enjoy a full-day game drive through diverse landscapes dotted with wildebeest, zebra, impala, and predators like lions and leopards. Picnic lunch inside the park, then continue your exploration before heading to your camp near the park for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Tarangire ā Lake Eyasi (Cultural Experience)
Today, youāll travel to Lake Eyasi, one of Tanzaniaās most fascinating cultural regions. In the afternoon, visit the Datoga tribe ā skilled blacksmiths and farmers who maintain ancient traditions. Learn about their metalworking techniques and daily life. As the day ends, enjoy the quiet beauty of the lake and overnight near the Hadzabe village.
Day 4: Hadzabe Cultural Experience ā Karatu
Rise early for a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the Hadzabe Bushmen, one of Africaās last hunter-gatherer tribes. Join them for a traditional hunting walk, see how they track animals, gather food, and live in harmony with nature. After this eye-opening encounter, continue to Karatu, a charming town nestled between the Ngorongoro highlands and Lake Manyara.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration
After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers unmatched wildlife viewing, including elephants, zebras, buffaloes, and possibly the rare black rhino. Enjoy your picnic lunch on the crater floor before returning to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and relaxation.
Day 6: Lake Manyara ā Arusha / Departure
Your final safari day takes you to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions, pink flamingos, and scenic diversity. After your morning game drive and lunch, return to Arusha for drop-off at your hotel or transfer to the airport for departure.
